Your circumstances

Finance for the rider you are today.

Credit history is only one part of a finance application. Whether you have excellent credit, are self-employed, receive benefits, are building a credit history or hold a provisional licence, we can discuss your circumstances and explain whether an application may be appropriate.

All applications are subject to lender underwriting and affordability checks. We do not promise approval, but we will provide straightforward information and support throughout the process.

Strong credit history

Explore competitive options suited to your circumstances.

Credit challenges

Past issues do not automatically prevent an application.

Self-employed

We can discuss the evidence a lender may require.

New and provisional riders

We will explain the factors that can affect options.

Benefits and unemployment

Motorcycle finance if you are unemployed or receive benefits.

Receiving benefits, being unemployed or changing jobs does not automatically prevent you from making a motorcycle finance application. Some lenders may consider certain benefits as part of verifiable income, alongside your wider financial circumstances.

Every application is assessed individually and must meet the lender’s affordability and eligibility criteria. We will listen to your situation, explain the process clearly and only discuss suitable next steps. Finance is not guaranteed.

  • Benefits may be considered as part of an affordability assessment
  • Accurate income and outgoings information helps us understand your circumstances
  • We will explain the next step before any lender credit search is proposed
Choose a route

Understanding motorcycle finance.

The right agreement depends on the bike, your budget and how you plan to use it. We can explain the differences before you decide.

HP

Hire Purchase

With HP, you usually pay a deposit followed by fixed monthly payments over an agreed term. Once all contractual payments and any option-to-purchase fee are made, you own the motorcycle.

  • Clear route to ownership
  • Fixed monthly payments
  • No mileage limit
PCP

Personal Contract Purchase

PCP can offer lower monthly payments because an optional final payment is deferred to the end of the agreement. At the end, you can usually return the bike, pay the optional final payment to own it, or part exchange it, subject to the agreement terms.

  • Potentially lower monthly payments
  • Flexible end-of-agreement options
  • Mileage and condition terms apply

Finance examples are illustrative only. We will provide full pre-contract information and explain the agreement before you enter into any finance agreement.

Finance questions

Frequently asked questions.

Clear answers before you decide whether to apply.

Can I apply for motorcycle finance with a poor credit history?

You can apply even if you have had credit difficulties. Each application is considered on its own circumstances, including affordability and lender criteria. Applying does not guarantee that finance will be available.

Can I apply for motorcycle finance if I am unemployed or receive benefits?

You can make an application. Being unemployed or receiving benefits does not automatically rule out finance, although each lender makes its own decision based on affordability, verified income and its lending criteria. Finance is not guaranteed.

Can I get finance with a provisional motorcycle licence?

A provisional licence does not automatically prevent you from applying. Available options depend on your circumstances, the motorcycle and the lender’s requirements.

What is the difference between HP and PCP?

Hire Purchase usually involves a deposit followed by fixed monthly payments, with ownership transferring after all payments are made. Personal Contract Purchase can offer lower monthly payments by deferring an optional final payment and gives you choices at the end of the agreement.

Will submitting an enquiry affect my credit score?

This website application is an initial enquiry, not a credit decision. Before a lender carries out any credit search, Mallory Motorcycles will explain the proposed next step and obtain the appropriate consent.

Can I use my current motorcycle as a part exchange?

Yes. A part exchange may be used towards your next motorcycle, subject to an appraisal and agreement. You can discuss this with the team when you apply or enquire.
