Suzuki Great Britain has officially launched a comprehensive new Off-Road Experience Centre, marking a significant investment in the UK’s adventure and dual-sport motorcycling community. Situated near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales, the state-of-the-art facility offers motorcycle enthusiasts unparalleled access to over 300 acres of diverse, legally open off-road terrain.

The centre aims to be the premier destination for riders of all skill levels, from complete novices seeking to master the basics to experienced adventurers looking to hone advanced techniques on challenging ground.

Strategic Location & Partnership

The new facility’s location is strategically placed in the scenic area surrounding Merthyr Tydfil, adjacent to the renowned Monster Mountain motocross track. The expansive 300-acre site is a haven for off-road training, providing a rich mixture of riding environments. Riders will encounter everything from wide shale fire roads, perfect for developing confidence at speed, to more technical, challenging single-track trails.

The venture is a powerful collaboration between Suzuki GB and the respected SR75 Suzuki off-road racing team. This partnership ensures the training provided is of the highest caliber, blending professional racing expertise with tailored rider tuition.

Expert Tuition & Personalized Learning

At the heart of the experience is a commitment to personalized, high-quality instruction. The centre is led by industry guru Geoff Walker, who boasts over 30 years of experience in off-road racing and rider training.

The philosophy prioritizes safety, skill development, and confidence-building. Sessions are deliberately kept to small group sizes, with a maximum of six riders per group. Crucially, the centre maintains an impressive instructor-to-rider ratio of no more than one instructor for every three riders. This ensures every participant receives focused, bespoke coaching throughout the day.

The curriculum covers fundamental skills such as:

  • Proper body positioning and weighting
  • Precise throttle control
  • Effective off-road braking techniques
  • Advanced skills for tackling difficult terrain

We're delighted to be launching a new Suzuki off-road training school, and we’re thrilled to be doing so in conjunction with Geoff Walker and the SR75 team. There aren't many people in the off-road world with the same levels of experience when it comes to rider tuition. He brings an incredible amount of care, dedication, and professionalism to the centre, ensuring every rider leaves feeling safer and more confident.

The Fleet: Suzuki’s Off-Road Line-Up

To facilitate the training, the centre provides a contemporary fleet of Suzuki motorcycles, allowing riders to experience the brand’s dual-sport and adventure capabilities first-hand.

The available rental bikes include:

  • Suzuki V-Strom 800DE: The latest middleweight adventure machine.
  • Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE: The flagship adventure tourer.
  • Suzuki DR-Z4S: A nimble and capable machine new to the off-road line-up.

For riders who do not own a suitable machine, the rental fleet ensures they can train on a well-maintained and purpose-equipped motorcycle.

Pricing & Booking

The full-day training programs are designed to be accessible and comprehensive, with prices starting from £300 per person. This cost is inclusive of motorcycle hire, all fuel and maintenance, and refreshments such such as teas, coffees, water, and snacks throughout the day.

For those seeking even more focused attention, the centre also offers smaller group sessions and exclusive private coaching at higher rates. Bookings for courses are expected to open soon via the official SR75 off-road website.

Industry Impact & Future Vision

The opening of the Off-Road Experience Centre is a major strategic move for Suzuki, cementing its presence in the UK’s competitive adventure motorcycling sector. It offers a dedicated, superior training environment compared to traditional schools.

The facility is anticipated to become a flagship hub for the brand, supporting off-road motorcycle sales and fostering brand loyalty. Future plans include expanding the activity scope with special youth training days, further advanced rider courses, and co-ordinating with other local outdoor and motor sport events, ensuring the centre remains a dynamic and vital part of the UK riding community for years to come.
